Chief Executive Officer
Lina was appointed Chief Executive Officer in July 2018. She has over 10 years’ experience in banking covering SME lending, Product & Business development, Strategic planning, Marketing & Communications and Sales. Previously she was the Chief Operating Officer of AB Bank Rwanda for a period of two years, five years as the as the Head of Strategy & Marketing at I&M Bank Rwanda and four years as the Head of SME banking at Fina Bank – Rwanda (now GTBank), where she launched the business unit. Her global experience includes Sales, Research, and Service delivery in various sectors such as Real Estate, Education, NGO’s and Energy in Canada and South Africa respectively. Education: MBA, B. Com, Dip. Communication.
Head of Finance, Strategy & Administration
Nicholas N. Musyoka
Nicholas was appointed as Head of Finance, Strategy & Administration in June 2018 with over 20 years in banking and financial management. Prior to joining CBA, he worked for KCB Bank in Kenya and the East Africa region, gaining experience in Finance, strategy, credit risk, treasury and branch operations. He is well versed with project management having successfully led the implementation of ERP and core banking solutions. Education: Chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Kenya) and MBA in finance.
Head of Business
Daniel was appointed Head of Business in September 2018. He has over 6 years within the banking sector and has broad experience across Corporate Banking and Financial Markets.
Prior to the appointment, he was a Senior Relationship Manager in I&M Bank Rwanda where he had also served in Corporate Banking collaborating with the Corporates and Institutions team to deliver client solutions across the region. Daniel also worked in the Treasury and Corporate Banking Departments in Guaranty Trust Bank Rwanda. Education: B.Com – Finance.
Head of Digital Banking
Julian joined the Bank in January 2017 as the Country Service Delivery Manager for New Business Ventures division (establishment and management of the Mobile Savings & Loan product (MoKash) with MTN), before his appointment as the Head of Digital banking. Prior to this, Julian worked for RSwitch Ltd as Head of Strategic Projects & Business Development. He started out his career in Finance and Accounting, where he worked for government projects, MTN Rwanda and Development Bank of Rwanda. Education: MSc - Finance and Economics, BBA – Bachelor of Business Administration.
Head of Treasury
Wilson was appointed as Head of Treasury in February 2018. He has 10 years of banking experience mainly in Treasury and Branch Management. Prior to his appointment, he worked at Crane Bank as Head of Treasury for 4 years, Ecobank Rwanda as Senior Treasury Sales Manager after serving in Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR) SA as a Branch Manager. Education: MA – Economics, B.Sc. - Economics.
Head of Human Resources
Lise was appointed as Head of Human Resources in February 2018. She has an extensive experience of 12 years in Human Resources Management. Prior to her appointment, she worked with Crane Bank Rwanda and R-Switch Ltd as Head of Human Resources. She is a Human Resources Specialist, with many aspects in delivering a diverse range of human resources functions, with ability to strengthen the link between people and strategy, as well as manage, motivate and retain talent. She has demonstrated a deep commitment to working in a collaborative, transparent and inclusive manner. Education: CHRA - Chartered Human Resources Analyst, B.L - Bachelor’s degree in Law.
Head of Operations & IT
Christian was appointed as Head of Operations & IT in February 2018. He is a proficient career banker with 20 years of experience. He has a wide experience in Bank operations management, Business development, product development, Project Management, quality assurance, Operational excellence and Branch Management.
Prior to this role, Christian was Head of Operations in Crane Bank Rwanda Ltd between 2014 and 2018 and has held various roles in KCB Rwanda where he was instrumental in the expansion of the Business in Rwanda. Prior to joining KCB Rwanda, Christian worked in Global Fund projects under the Ministry of Health of Rwanda. Between 1999 and 2007, Christian has held various senior roles in former BCDI currently Ecobank Rwanda. Education: MBA – Finance and Accounting, BBM – Bachelors of Business Management.
Head of Credit Risk Management
Eugene was appointed in February 2018 as Head of Credit Risk Management. He has a wide experience of over 19 years in the banking industry. He has rich exposure in Credit Risk management, Business Banking, Trade finance and Branch management. Eugene has occupied various roles in different local banks which translate into a wide knowledge of the business and credit risk environment. Education: MSc- Project Management, BBM – Bachelors of Business Management.
Head of Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance
Paulin is Head of Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance, joined CBA in March 2017 and supported the bank in setting up its governance structures in Rwanda. He is a seasoned banker with over 11 years’ experience in areas of risk management, compliance, banking regulation and auditing. Prior to the appointment, he served in National Bank of Rwanda for 9 years in the Bank Supervision Department.
Some of his key contributions to the Central Bank had been the implementation of various reforms that the bank undertook such as implementation of Basel II & III and automation of regulatory reporting process. He has also led inspections of various commercial banks and participated in drafting and publication of a number of regulations, directives and circulars regulating the banking sector in Rwanda. Education: MBA (Accounting and Finance), B.A.(Economics).
Head of Internal Audit
Marcel was appointed as the Head of Internal Audit in October 2018. He has vast experience of more than 10 years in banking and auditing. Prior to his appointment he worked with Cogebanque, Equity Bank Rwanda, National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) in various capacities in the areas of internal auditing, tax auditing, banking supervision and finance. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) of Rwanda. Education: BCom - Accounting.
Head of Legal Services & Company Secretary
Etienne was appointed as Head of Legal services and Company Secretary in February 2018. He has a vast experience of 5 years in Banking and the financial industry. He previously worked with Crane Bank Rwanda, KCB Rwanda Ltd and SONARWA.
He has 11 years of experience in legal advisory and legal matters in public institutions. He served as Coordinator and Legal Advisor in Supreme Court- Department of Gacaca Courts before joining the National Service of Gacaca Courts after judicial reform as Coordinator/Legal Advisor. Etienne received a certificate of merit from the Government of Rwanda for the sacrifice and patriotism shown in the accomplishment of his duties as one of the senior staff of National Service of Gacaca Courts. He is currently a non-permanent council member and visiting lecturer of the Law Faculty at Kigali Independent University (ULK). Education: LLM – Law, LLB – Law.
